

She was born on May 25, 1918 in Champaign, the daughter of Tom and Emma Anderson. She married Daniel “Ed” Howe in 1937 in Rockville, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, parents,; sisters, Patsy Kensil, Wilma Friese, brother, Jerome Anderson and son, Robert Howe.
Mrs. Howe attended school in Shelbyville, IL and Brown’s Business College. She was employed as a secretary for the State Department of Mental Health. She was a member of First Congregational Church. Dorothy and Ed enjoyed many years traveling, bingo, slots, sports and winter months in Sun City Center, FL. during their 68 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son, J. Richard Howe (Kay) of Naples, Fl.; grandchildren, Kelly Howe (Angela) of Springfield, Audrey and Dan Howe of Naples, FL.; great grandchildren, Taylor, Emma, Andrew and Ally Howe; step grandchildren, Adam, Emily and Rick; sisters, Roxy (Ken) Manning of Springfield and Darlene Lively of Shelbyville and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday Sept. 26 from 5 to 7:00 PM at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday Sept. 27, 2014 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. (www.boardman-smith.net).
