Dorothy Emma Maxey

Dorothy Emma Maxey, 79, of Springfield, passsed away at 10:41 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2001 at St. John's Hospital. She was born in St. Louis, MO on May 24, 1921 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones. She married Herbert Maxey, Jr. in St. Charles, Mo in December of 1938 and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1991. Mrs. Maxey was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. She is survived by three daughters: Rosemarie (husband-Fred) Boosinger of Springfield, Bonnie S. Maxey of Springfield, and Cindy Maxey of Springfield; two sons: Herbert (wife-Tina) Maxey III of MO, and George (wife-Alice) Maxey of Granite City, IL; one sister: Betty Cox of St. Louis, MO; one brother: Kenneth Jones of MO; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, 2001 with the Rev. Scott Brindley officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. at Lake Charles Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo on Friday, March 23, 2001.
