

Dorothy Ann Mullaney, 97, of Springfield, died at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Heritage Health of Springfield. Ann was born October 22, 1917 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of J. Edgar and Ula Kemp Olson. She married William J. Mullaney on August 18, 1940 in Peoria; he preceded her in death. Ann was a graduate of University High School in Bloomington, IL, and attended Illinois State University. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, PEO Chapter FU, the Springfield Art Association, Springfield Garden Club, Illinois State Museum Society and a life member of Springfield Craft and Ceramics Club. She loved playing bridge, traveling, and collecting antiques. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Sara Mullaney. She is survived by one son, John (wife, Dona) Mullaney of St. Petersburg, FL; one daughter, Jane (husband, Bob) Beeks of Leawood KS; three grandchildren, William Kemp Mullaney, John Baker Mullaney, and Katherine C. Beeks; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Grace Mullaney and Lucie Ann Mullaney. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Busboom and Dorothy's grandson, Rev. John Mullaney officiating.
