Dorothy M. Putnam, 88, of Sherman, died at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Dorothy was born June 21, 1923 in Stark County, IL, the daughter of Wickliff and Charlotte Elkins Oney. She married Ken Putnam on November 27, 1965 in Peoria. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leslie Oney, Tyrus Oney, and Clifford Oney; and a sister, Vera Utterback. She is survived by her husband, Ken Putnam of Springfield; three daughters, Pat Doyle of Jackson, TN, Linda (fianc' John Matthews) Parker of Arnold, MO, and Merrie (husband, Doug) Usher of Springfield; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and brother, Wayne (wife, Gerry) Oney of Norfolk, VA. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
