

Douglas A. Hembrough, 35, of Springfield, died at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, September 04, 2005 at his residence. Doug was born November 28, 1969 in Jacksonville the son of Howard F. and Harriet Horton Hembrough. He married Stacey Myers on May 29, 1993 in Kansas City, MO. He was a 1988 graduate of Griffin High School where he was on the national honor society and was a member of the All-State Football Team. Doug went to the University of Missouri in Columbia Missouri on a Football Scholarship where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1992. He was awarded the Missouri Mo Award where he received recognition in Sportsmanship, Enthusiasm and Team Spirit. Before returning to Springfield, he worked for UMB Bank in Kansas City, MO and has worked as a Vice President for Bank of Springfield since 2000. He was an avid golfer and a member of Illini and Panther Creek Country Clubs. He was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife: Stacey Hembrough of Springfield; children: Brooke, Ryan and Cole all at home; mother: Harriet (husband, Pat) Hembrough-Dowling of Naples, FL; brothers: Jeff (wife, Karen) of Naperville, IL, Mike (wife, Karen) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Chris (wife, Cindy) Hembrough of Chatham, IL; three nieces and six nephews. Family will receive friends from 3-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Spriggs principal celebrant and Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas A. Hembrough Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Bank of Springfield, 3400 W. Wabash Ave., Springfield, IL 62711 or a Charity of Donor's Choice in memory of Douglas A. Hembrough. The family of Douglas A.
