

Dr. Karl W. Freivogel, DDS. 90 of Springfield died at 11:30 p.m.Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1914 in Mascoutah, IL the son of William and Hilda Eidman, Freivogel. He married Clarice Murray on January 10, 1939 in Chicago and she preceded him in death. Dr. Freivogel was a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Washington University School of Dentistry in St. Louis. He practiced Dentistry in Mascoutah and Danville, IL until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. He was a member of Kiwanis Golden K, the Danville Dental Society and a member of the State and National Dental Society. He is a World War II veteran, serving as a Captain in the 406 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in North Africa, Corsica and France. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother: Edward Freivogel. Dr. Freivogel is survived by his son: William Freivogel (wife Caroline) of Chicago; daughter: Nan (husband Ben) Hendrickson of Springfield; four grandchildren: Amy Coxhead, Andrew Freivogel, Josh Freivogel and Sarah Back, and six great grandchildren: Hadley, Stuart, Sara and Winston Coxhead, and Riis Karl and Anna Freivogel. He is also survived by a wonderful group of loving caregivers. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center. Private Services will be held at a later date.
