

Dr. Robert R. Fahringer, 82, of Glendale, Arizona, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at his home. Bob was born September 7, 1924 in Williamport, Pennsylvania, the son of Clyde and Kathryn Fahringer. He married Julia Elsa Luigi on February 21, 1950, in Philadelphia. Bob received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University and his Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He practiced as a physician for 28 years in Springfield, Illinois specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Urology. Captain Robert R. Fahringer received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy where he served during the Korean Conflict as a physician. Bob was a life member of the NRA and served as a Rebublican Precinct Committeeman in Glendale, Arizona. He was a true patriotic American who loved his country and his family. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, J. Elsa Fahringer in 2005, his parents, and his sister, Patricia Reitzel. He is survived by; one daughter: Sandy (husband, Al) Klunick of Springfield; two sons: Craig A. (wife, Kim) Fahringer of Carterville and Robert R. Fahringer, Jr. of Mattoon; four grandchildren: Tyler J. and Adam R. Klunick of Springfield, Stephanie and Justine Fahringer of Carterville, a niece, a nephew, and several cousins. Cremation was accorded by Hansen Mortuaries in Phoenix, Arizona.
