

E. Ursula Gaydos, 93, of Springfield, died at 2:55 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Heritage Manor. Ursula was born on May 13, 1913 in Springfield, the daughter of James & Emma Lorenz O’Shea. She married Albert Gaydos on November 27, 1954 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2007. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and Ursuline Academy. She was a former member of the Rose Society. She had been employed at Allis Chalmers and Sangamo Electric. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas O’Shea and a sister, Drucilla Best. She is survived by her son, Lawrence “Larz” (wife, Julie Slack) Gaydos of Springfield; two grandchildren: Natasha and Dane Gaydos of Springfield; a brother, John R. (wife, Cricket) O’Shea of O’Fallon and a sister, Althea (husband, Marion) Lewis of Shreveport, LA and many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield with Very Rev. James D. O’Shea, V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family of E. Ursula Gaydos is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
