

He was born on July 16, 1930 in Springfield, the son of the late Edgar and Mary Ellen (Moore) Fritz. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Lukesch who he married on November 7, 1953 in Springfield.
Ted was an Assistant Business Manager for City, Water, Light, and Power in Springfield. In addition he served as the minister at Plymouth Congregational Church in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Jan. 1951 until Nov. 1952, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of Kumler United Methodist Church in Springfield and preached at the Washington Street Mission.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn, Ted is survived by a son, Dr. Steven (wife Sally) Fritz of Chatham, a daughter, Sandra Fritz of Springfield, grandchildren, Colin and Carys Fritz, both of Chatham, 3 sisters, Mary Jane (husband Don) Hillary of Bettendorf, IA, Delores “Jo” Ball and Damaris Fritz, both of Springfield. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Paul, Francis, and Tom Fritz, and 2 sisters, Ethel Balash and Sarah Gallagher.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 1 pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, with Rev. Sylvester Weatherall officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Interveteran's Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the U.S. Air Force.
