

Edward Lee (Bud) Kirk, 75, of Chatham, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Plano, TX, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Ralph J. and Violet L. (Hill) Kirk of Norris City, IL, born February 12, 1937. Bud graduated from the University of Illinois and served in the Marine Corps Reserve. He was a Registered Architect with a private practice in Chatham, and retired from the Department of Natural Resources. In retirement, he served as a consultant with HDR, Inc. Bud was a proud Free Mason in Chatham Central Lodge #523 AF&AM, for 40 years and a member of High 12 and Scottish Rite. An active member of the Chatham United Methodist Church, he served on the Board of Trustees and taught Bible Studies. He taught Architectural Technology at Lincoln Land Community College. Bud and his wife Carolyn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 13, 2011. Bud is survived by his wife Carolyn (Fore) Kirk; son Douglas (Peggy) Kirk of Fort Worth, TX; daughters, Deborah Anders of New Berlin and Darla Sindt of Plano, TX; grandchildren Bailey and Riley Anders, and Xander and Brody Sindt, step granddaughter Silky Bertone and son Eason; sister Trudie (Bill) Lemon of Springfield, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Bud�s family will greet friends from 4-7PM, Friday, April 13, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Masonic Services will be conducted Friday 6pm. Funeral: 3PM, Saturday, April 14, at Chatham United Methodist Church, 104 West Chestnut, Chatham, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
