As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Edward lived a life marked by dedication—to his country, his work, and most of all, his family. He served honorably in the Korean War, answering the call of duty with courage and humility.
Following his military service, Edward married the love of his life, Mary (Kish) for 67 wonderful years. Together, they built a family grounded in love and togetherness. Ed is survived by his wife, Mary; 2 children, Michael Petrunich (Arlene) of Largo, FL, Jeanie Otten (Phil) of College Gove, TN; 4 grandchildren: Zach Otten (Macy), Eric Otten (Jackie), Danielle Petrunich (Taylor Wagner) and Anna Petrunich Zipf (Chris); and 3 great-grandchildren, Charlie Jean, Tucker and Durham Otten.
Edward built a long and fulfilling career as a pharmaceutical sales representative with HD Smith Wholesale Drug Company in Springfield, IL, where he worked for 41 years until his retirement. He was widely respected for his work ethic and professionalism. Edward was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed golf. At home, he was a steady and supportive presence, actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, cheering them on through their sports and activities during their younger years.
Edward’s life was one of quiet strength, loyalty, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
