

Ernest A. Reeves, 75, of Decatur, died at 11:11 p.m. on April 6, 2012 at Fair Havens Christian Home. Ernest was born May 7, 1936 in Springfield, the son of John and Jennie Kwiatkowski Reeves. Ernest was a 1954 graduate of Lanphier High School and worked for Horace Mann, National Life Sales, Bunn-O-Matic and Coca-Cola throughout his life. He was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting rabbits, deer and pheasants, and sports. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Joseph and Peter Reeves; and two sisters, Sophie Reeves and Dorothy Marsh. He is survived by his former wife, Judith Reeves of Springfield; children, Perry (wife, Cindy) Reeves and Mark (wife, Catherine) Reeves, all of Springfield, Jennifer (husband, Greg) Fritzgerald of Mt. Zion and Ann Marie Reeves of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Adam (fianc, Chelsey Imel) Fritzgerald of Alton, Aaron (wife, Abigail) Fritzgerald of Decatur, Justin (wife, Stephanie) Reeves of North Carolina, and Rachel Reeves of Springfield; great-grandchild, Isabella Reeves; siblings, Mary (husband, Peter) Bono, George Reevis, and Helen Reeves, all of Springfield, and Agnes Westrope of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
