Eugene R. Small, 83, of Springfield, died at 5:46 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Springfield on June 18, 1927, the son of August W. and Helen Hamilton Small. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. He had worked for many years in men's retail clothing in sales and management. He is survived by his wife, Donna Small of Springfield and son, Kevin M. Small, M.D. of South Bend, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Ceremonies will be held at a later date.
