Eugene Samuel Stone

He was born in Beardstown, IL July 17, 1920 the son of Charles Ray and Grace Ann Landreth Stone. He married Irene Chastain in 1947 and she survives. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WW II

He is also survived by his daughter, Beverly (husband Rich) Walch of Raymond, IL, his son, Philip (wife Nancy) Stone of Springfield, his grandson, Christopher Heather of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert in 1966.

Eugene retired in 1985 from Fiat-Allis, formerly Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing in 1985 after 37 ½ years of service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd, Springfield where visitation will be Sunday April 10, 2011 from 3-5 pm. Funeral services will be on Monday April 11, 2011 at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Rev. Charlie Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
