

Frances G. Brinkley, 72, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born August 7, 1935, in Springfield, the daughter of Ivan and Myrtle Painter Ware. While Frances was a dedicated homemaker, she also worked at the Hope School as a nurse and in nursing homes as a nursing aid. She enjoyed reading and watching old westerns in addition to crocheting, crossword puzzles, and playing Canasta and other card games. Preceding Frances in death were her parents; her grandchild, Angel Brinkley; sisters, Ruthy Mattingly and Betty Moore; and brother, Hershel Ware. She is survived by her children, Kevin (fianc, Christine) Brinkley, Frances Pace, Pete Brinkley, Matt (fianc, Joeanna) Brinkley, and Waylon "Bud" (wife, Rita) Brinkley, all of Springfield; twenty-three grandchildren; her brothers, Ivan (wife, Joyce), George (wife, Sigi), Ed, and Michael Ware; her sisters, Nancy Sammann, Barb Parton, Catherin Fisher, Vicki Mansfield, and Shirley Swain; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley, officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
