Frances Gresham Maupin

She was born in Springfield, April 27, 1918 the daughter of Frank L. and Emma Trapp Everitt. She attended Springfield schools. She married Joseph W. Gresham in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1944 in France. She then married Ted Maupin in 1969 and he also preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Joseph W. Gresham Jr., and Samuel E. Gresham.

Frances was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She retired from the Department of Children and Family Services of the State of Illinois in 1970 after 24 years of service.

Surviving are her son, Lowell Gresham of Springfield, 3 step children; Karen Smock, Bonnie Hoffman and Tomas Maupin, 2 granddaughters, Kathy Gresham and Michele (husband Jay) Stewart of Springfield, 2 grandsons, Kevin (wife Nancy) Gresham of Springfield, and Eddie Gresham of The Colony, TX, 4, great grandchildren; Miranda, Kyle, Kori and Sami. There are several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen where visitation will be on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 9:00 am until time of funeral services there at 10:00 am. Rev. Vaughn Beeman will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
