

He was born in Springfield, IL, on April 2, 1938, the son of Clifford Vernon and Hazel Maxine (Byers) Schou. He married Martha J. Voorhees on March 15, 1957.
Frank was a hard-working automotive mechanic who lived in the Sangamon County community his whole life. He worked for Reason Buick in Springfield, from 1959 to 1961, Reason Buick in Santa Ana, CA, from 1961 to 1970, and he retired in 1991 from Guiffre Buick. After retirement, he restored classic automobiles in his home shop. Frank was also a “gentleman farmer” that took care of three acres of livestock and a garden.
He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Early V-8 Ford Club of America, and the Good Guys Rod and Custom Association.
Frank is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Greg, brother, Terry (Kathleen) Schou; sister, Barbara (Rion) Turley; sister-in-law, Kristy Schou; uncle, Fred Byers; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Schou; stepfather, Gus Kopatz; nephews, Richard Turley and Bob Schou; and great-nephew, Evan Depoy.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL, followed by the Ceremony at 11:30 a.m., with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
