Gary Wayne Bliefnick

Gary Wayne Bliefnick, 74, of Pawnee, passed away on November 1, 2025 at his residence. He was born on July 25, 1951 in Springfield to Walter Bliefnick and Shirley Aubrey Bliefnick. Gary married Janet Zeigler on July 11, 2000 and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2012.

Mr. Bliefnick is survived by one son Jay Bliefnick of Billerica, MA., one stepson: Michael (Staci) Curtis of Sioux Falls, SD., three step grandchildren: Zach, Travis and Casey, one brother Chuck Bliefnick of Chatham, one niece Jennifer (Matt) Rothbart of Joliet and their children Tyler and Alaina and his mother Shirley Aubrey Bliefnick. He was preceded in death by one sister Sandy Smego and his father Walter Bliefnick.

Gary worked for the US Postal service and he was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed music, where he played guitar, bass, and sang in bands for decades. He was also an avid gardener, both in his green house and outdoors, with asparagus his favorite. He was also a big fan of cooking, woodworking, politics, and firearms.

Cremation rites were accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday November 8, 2025 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Chatham Cemetery.
