

Gary K. Knorr, 71, of Springfield, passed away Friday April 26, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born on August 23, 1941 in Freeport, IL., the son of Delmar and Juanita Volz Knorr. He married Gloria Hendee on September 5, 1970 in Mt. Morris, IL., and she survives.
Mr. Knorr is also survived by three sons: Scott (Kathleen) Knorr of Meredosia, Barry Knorr of Carroll, Iowa, and Dennis (Jennifer) Riley of Oregon, IL., one daughter Sue (Richard) Rock of Buffalo, IL., two sisters: Bonnie (Albert) Williams of Lanark, IL., and Beverly (Scott) Lindsay of Walnut, IL., nine grandchildren: Jackie Maltby of Jacksonville, Audrey (Jeremy) Zeilman of Chatham, Vanessa Knorr of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Michael Knorr of Meredosia, Rob (Charity) Rock of Tempe, AZ., Devyn Novak of Staunton, Paul Novak of Divernon, Erin Riley of New York, NY., and Heather (Travis) Hochstatter of Pilot Point, TX., five great-grandchildren: Colton Maltby, Isabella Zeilman, Quincy Hochstatter, and Damin, Khara, and Gabriel Novak, his special family friends Sarah, Elizabeth, and Andrew Mayes all of Springfield and Mable Ashelford of Byron, IL., as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Patrick Riley.
Gary worked at Kable Printing in Mt. Morris, IL., as a book binder for 16 years before he moved to Springfield where he then worked as a book binder for Phillips Brothers Printing and Schnepp & Barnes Printers retiring in 2006 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Graphics Communication International Union, and he was very active and was a past president of the Springfield Pet Bird Club. Gary and his wife Gloria operated G and G Aviary in Springfield.
