

Gary Lee Koehler, 58, of Springfield, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at St. John�s Hospital. Gary was born November 20, 1951 in Springfield, the son of Edgar and Wanda Miller Koehler. He married Karen Adams on March 8, 1973 in Springfield. He graduated from Lanphier High School in 1969 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He also served in the National Guard for 6 years. In his earlier days, Gary worked for Fiat Allis for 10 years. He owned and operated One Day Cleaners, where he had worked since he was 18 years old. Gary was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed trips to the riverboat and spending time with his family. He was known as a jokester and a very hard worker. He is preceded in death by his father; and step-father, William �Bud� J. Streder. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Springfield; one son, Michael Koehler of Springfield; one daughter, Andrea Koehler of Chicago; his mother, Wanda Streder of Springfield; one brother, Allen Koehler of Springfield; one sister, Karen (husband, Thomas) Wood of Springfield; one step-sister, Janet (husband, Richard) Lindeman of Coon Rapids, MN; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 4:00 � 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with a prayer service to begin at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield, Rev. Msgr. Thomas Paul Holinga, celebrant. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
