

Gary E. Kuhlmann, 64, of Springfield, died at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at St. John's Hospice. Gary was born January 26, 1948 in Herscher, IL, the son of Edgar and Mabel Miller Kuhlmann. He married Patricia Ann Green on June 6, 1970 in Springfield. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2011. Gary graduated from Herscher High School in 1966 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture from Illinois State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a field representative supervisor for Prairie Farms for over 30 years. Gary was a member of Church of the Little Flower and was also a past president of the National Milk Producers Federation. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, collected milk bottles, enjoyed John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies, woodworking, and being with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's events. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two sons, Chris (Stacy) Kuhlmann of Rochester and Shawn (Chanda) Kuhlmann of Springfield; five grandchildren, Bailey, Rylee, Keely, Jillian, and Jackson; brother, Paul Kuhlmann and nephew, Andrew Kuhlmann both of Herscher; sister-in-law, Barbara Green of Springfield and several cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.
