Geneva Krouse

Geneva was born on June 5, 1925, in Waggoner, IL, the daughter of Horace and Mabel (Stewart) Street. She married Robert “Bob” L. Krouse on June 30, 1943, in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2006.

Geneva graduated from Springfield High School and worked for the State of Illinois and had a long career at JC Penney. Prior to her retirement she was a catalog manager. She was a former member of Rebekah Lodge. Geneva enjoyed reading and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She once wrote a condolence letter to the family of Jack Buck which was published in his honor.

Geneva was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Robert Krouse; and brothers, Donald and William Street.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Catherine) Krouse of Hesperia, CA, and Jack (Lorri Miller) Krouse of Springfield; daughters, Sherry Bishop of Chatham, and Patti (Mark) Madison of Ione, CA; Larry’s lifelong partner, Sharon Vaught of Renton, WA; grandchildren, Robert (Tamara) Krouse, Christie Bishop, Daniel (Natalie) Krouse, Duncan Carter, Amanda (Christopher) Van Allen, Dana (Rick) Champ, Tim (Alexis) Bishop, Tina Tucker, and Kayla (Bryson Hayter) Krouse; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
