Gerry was born December 26, 1930, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Louis H. and Anna M. Bart Marcy. She married William “Bill” Havenar on May 20, 1950, at the Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1993.
Gerry was employed as a secretary/treasurer with Selective Construction until her retirement. She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, AARP, and the Illinois State Archeological Society.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Gerry is survived by her son, Gary (Barb) Havenar of Springfield; daughter, Julie Vanderwater of Springfield; four grandsons and one granddaughter; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; brother, Louis A. (Judith) Marcy of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Shear officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
