Gladys Frances Jacobus

Gladys was born July 26, 1912 in Greenville, MI. the daughter of Glenn E. and Maud Pixley Ruch. She married Hector C. Jacobus on Oct. 10, 1931 and he preceded her in death July 6, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother G. L. Ruch and a twin grandson, David.

She was employed for 10 years by Miss Jo's Nursery School. She was also employed by Bressemer's and retired from Stix, Baer and Fuller. She retired as an Avon Representative in 1991. She has been a member of Unity Church of Practical Christianity since 1957. Gladys had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers in her yard, especially her roses.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan J.(husband, John W.) Olinger of Springfield; a granddaughter, Nancy J.(husband, Paul L.) Clites of Houston,TX.; a grandson, Michael B. Olinger of Springfield, six great grandchildren and a sister, Wavel A. Schlegel of Bath, MI. and several nieces and nephews,

The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Monday April 28, 2008 from 10:30 AM until the time of services there at 11:30 AM with Rev. Gerry Comstock officiating.Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
