Gloria L. Gagnon, 95, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 2, 1929, in Mattoon, Illinois to Everett Randall and Edith (Bombarger) Randall.
In 1962, Gloria married the love of her life, Leslie S. Gagnon. They shared 33 wonderful years together until his passing in 1996.
Gloria exuded a gentle kindness that touched everyone she met. She enjoyed expressing herself creatively-whether working as a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, drawing, sewing, or baking. She also worked as a secretary for National Casualty and later as a bank associate at Chase Bank. Her most treasured role, however, was that of a devoted stay-at-home mother throughout her daughters’ school years.
She spent many happy hours cheering on her favorite sports - especially NASCAR and football - with her family. Gloria loved country music, cherished every moment involving her grandchildren, and looked forward to annual family vacations in Michigan. She delighted in visits from and babysitting for, her “grand-pets,” who brought her so much joy. To her family and friends, she was affectionately known as “Gaga", a name that captured her warmth and fun-loving spirit.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Whitney Kim (John Kim) and Stacey Blaustein (Nate Blaustein), both of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Benjamin Kim, Madeline Kim, Emma Blaustein, and Annie Blaustein; sister, Anasue Haines of Springfield, IL; brother, Michael Randall of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie; sisters Mary “Beth” Miller, Joan Butler, and Sharon Bailey; and brothers William Randall and Richard Randall.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711, where family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, August 23, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m., until the time of service there at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Tom Krieger will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry or the Animal Protective League of Springfield, IL.
