

Grace V. Sgro, 91, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2002 at St. John’s Hospice. Grace was born May 30, 1911 the daughter of Jacob and Pauline Lederle Hirschle in Springfield. She married Joseph Sgro on May 31, 1941. Grace was co-owner of Capri Grill for 35 years. She was also employed by Bergners/Myers Brothers Department Store. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Sgro; her parents; one sister Gertrude Dressendorfer and two brothers: Frank and Leo Corlas. She is survived by four daughters: Mary Frances (husband, J. Richard) Stone of Springfield, Paula (husband, Michael) Josvanger of Evanston, Judy Sgro of Springfield, Jean Sgro of Springfield, four grandchildren; one great grandson; one brother: John Hirschle of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. July 1, 2002 with a wake service at 5:30 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Very Reverend Kevin Vann and Reverend David Hoefler celebrants.
