

Harley L. Henson, 79, of Springfield died at 11:09 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Harley was born November 27, 1936 in Willisville, IL the son of Grover and Josie Glotfelty Henson. He married Wanda McCormick on May 30, 1959 in Willisville, IL; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2014. Harley proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. He was a tool and die maker for 15 years at Cutler Hammer in Lincoln, IL. Harley then was a machinist at City, Water, Light and Power for 28 years, retiring in 1998. Harley enjoyed woodworking, gardening (especially tomatoes) and was a former golfer. He was a huge Illini Basketball fan. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his children: Debbie (Steve) Quinn of Girard; Mark (Janese) Henson of Rochester; and Becky (Geno) Koehler of Springfield; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery with military honors provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
