

She was born on April 3, 1925 in Carleton, MI, the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Rogers) Parish. She married Leslie Bryant, Sr. on April 13, 1957 in Flat Rock, MI and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bryant worked as a seamstress and head cook at the St. Francis Convent-Mother House for 16 years, retiring in 1986. Hazel is loved by many and is considered to be one of the best recyclers. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laughter was contagious.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald (Peggy) Salmon of CA and Michael Salmon of IL; 1 daughter Sandra Leathers of VA; 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Clinton, Jay, Janise, Michelle, Mikie Lynn, Mike Jr. and Trevor, James, Patrick, and Dustin; and many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Leslie Bryant, Jr., a brother Willard Parish, a sister Ruth St. John, a step-grandchild Carl Clements, 2 daughters-in-law Janice Salmon and Tracey Bryant and a son-in-law Jack Leathers.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Graveside services will be held on October 28, 2015 at 2 pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 3300 Conifer Dr., Springfield, IL 62711 or to the Margery Adams Wildlife Sanctuary/IL Audubon Society, 2315 Clearlake Ave, Springfield, IL 62703.
