

Heather Anne Huitt, 21, of Auburn, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 9:13 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Heather was born August 9, 1989 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of Christopher Harold and Eleanor Jean Tungett Huitt. Heather was a graduate of Southeast High School and began college at the University of IllinoisChampaign. She was a student at the University of IllinoisSpringfield and Lincoln Land Community College, studying to be a high school teacher in English and Math. Heather worked at Marine Bank in Chatham as a teller, but was recently promoted to the position of personal banker. She was a very active member at Westminster Presbyterian Church and a youth leader at the Third Presbyterian Church. Heather enjoyed playing the piano and flute, watching movies, reading, and watching her boyfriend Kyle perform motorcycle stunts. She was a very caring, sweet, kind, generous and bright woman who will be deeply missed by many. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marilyn Tungett. She is survived by her mother, Eleanor (husband, Lyle) VanDeventer of Chatham; father, Chris Huitt of Chatham; long-time boyfriend, Kyle Bradburn of Auburn; siblings, Kayla and Kyle Huitt of Chatham, Paul VanDeventer of Monterey, CA and Laura VanDeventer of Springfield; grandparents, Larry and Judy Huitt of Petersburg and Roy and Carol Tungett of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will receive friends from 3:30-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 S. Walnut St., Springfield, with Rev. Tasha Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
