Helen L. Bell

Helen L. Bell, 84, of Springfield, died at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at St. John's Hospice. Helen was born on April 1, 1923 the daughter of Oren C. & Elenora A. Falcetti Lowder. She married Edward M. Bell Sr. on August 3, 1941 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 31, 1999. She graduated Springfield High School in 1940. She worked for Sangamo Electric as an assembler for over twenty years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Edward M. Bell, Jr., and her brother Robert Lowder. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Bell of Springfield; three grandchildren: Sarah (husband, Matthew) Locke of Scottsdale, AZ, Michelle (husband, Leon) Falconburg of Springfield, Melanie Gard of Springfield; six great grandchildren: Zachary and Kristopher Hulcher both of Springfield, Mallory and Leon Falconburg III both of Springfield, Nolan and Quincy Locke both of Scottsdale AZ; her brother: Oren (wife, June) Lowder of Springfield; a special brother-in-law: William (wife, Frances) Bell of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N 20th St. Springfield, IL 62702. Funeral Mass will be held following the memorial gathering at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Schulte celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
