

Henri P. Sidem, 76, of Chatham, died at 10:52 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home. Henri was born February 24, 1939 in Bornova, Turkey, the son of Ange and Ines Topuz Sidem. He married Lale Uslu on May 14, 1965 in Izmir, Turkey. Henri served as an executive of a textile business in Turkey. After retiring to the United States, he worked for Springfield College and drove for the Ball-Chatham School District, where he influenced the lives of younger generations and made many friends. He was outgoing and generous, a joker and a story-teller, and a friend to everyone. Henri was a member of Christ the King Parish and the RCIA at Christ the King. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marie "Marica" Gallia. He is survived by his wife, Lale Sidem of Chatham; two sons, Bernard (wife, Min) Sidem of Bloomington and Aksel (wife, Jennifer) Sidem of Wauwatosa, WI; one daughter, Selin (husband, Dr. Bulent) Cetindag of Springfield; six grandchildren, Erin, Alin, John, Olivia, Max, and Alex; and one nephew, Luigi Tius. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Christ the King Parish, with Rev. Joseph R. Ring celebrant.
