Herbert A. Denniss

Herbert A. Denniss, 84, of Springfield, passed away on May 9, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1940 in Springfield to Frederick Denniss and Betty Berry. Herbert married Elizabeth Saito on October 9, 1976 in Springfield and she survives.

Mr. Denniss is also survived by his sister-in-law Brenda (Larry) Saxe, one nephew Ryan (Jill) Enos, two great-nieces: Felicity and Loxley and one great-nephew Logan.

Herbert was a US Air Force Veteran. He joined the Springfield Police Department in 1966 and retired as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Investigations in 1991. Herbert then worked for Midstate Organized Crime Information Service. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to Japan. Herbert enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and collecting guns and Studebaker cars.

Cremation rites were accorded. The family will greet friends on Friday May 23, 2025 from 10:00am until 11:30am at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road.
