

Izetta M. Douglas, 96, of Springfield, died at 1:46 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Mrs. Douglas was born on July 17, 1909 in Annada, MO, the daughter of Walker and Lottie Lindsay Scott. She married Lawrence Douglas in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Union Baptist Church. She was employed as a caterer. She enjoyed her home and loved canning, cooking and yardwork. She was a very genuine, sincere and diligent person. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Ina Scott, Daisy Starks, Lucille Wheeler, Mary Simon and two brothers: Annias Scott and George B. Scott. She is survived by one son: Larry C. Douglas of Springfield; two daughters: Mardella (husband, Wesley) Brents and Beverly Douglas-Jackson both of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Monroe Street Christian Church, 1229 E. Monroe, Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Monroe Street Christian Church with Rev. T. Ray McJunkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family of Izetta M. Douglas is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
