

James A. Dunham, 72, of Springfield, died at 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at his residence. He was born on September 4, 1934 in Springfield, the son of J. Ritter and Nellie Manning Dunham. James graduated from Cathedral Boys High School and from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Finance Corps. He served as Commissioner of Accounts and Finance for twelve years with the City of Springfield. He was the elected delegate to the National Republican Convention in 1980 He was also self-employed as an Insurance & Financial Examiner. James enjoyed playing the piano and organ, talents that were taught to him by the Ursuline Sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: John Dunham and Peter Dunham and two sisters: Jean Delaney and Rita Blasko He is survived by three sisters: Judy Ansell, Margaret (husband, Bill) Lemanski and Mary “Midge” (husband, Ossie) Langfelder all of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Avenue, Springfield, with Rev. Michael Haag celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Cathedral Grade School, 524 E.
