James L. Judd, 89, of Springfield, died at 7:30 a.m. on April 20, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. James was born June 7, 1917 in Pleasant Plains, IL, the son of Gaither and Georgia Squires Judd. He married Carolyn Werner; she preceded him in death in 1982. James was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He sold cars for Huber Pontiac for several years, and then worked as a mechanic for Central Iron and Metal, from where he retired. He was also preceded in death by two sons: Jim and Ron Judd. He is survived by one son: Bob (wife, Darlene) Judd of Chatham; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters: Opal Sargent of Springfield and Bernice Nave of Riverton; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Ceremonies will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. The family of James L. Judd is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
