James L. Judd, 89, of Springfield, died at 7:30 a.m. on April 20, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. James was born June 7, 1917 in Pleasant Plains, IL, the son of Gaither and Georgia Squires Judd. He married Carolyn Werner; she preceded him in death in 1982. James was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He sold cars for Huber Pontiac for several years, and then worked as a mechanic for Central Iron and Metal, from where he retired. He was also preceded in death by two sons: Jim and Ron Judd. He is survived by one son: Bob (wife, Darlene) Judd of Chatham; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters: Opal Sargent of Springfield and Bernice Nave of Riverton; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Ceremonies will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
