James I Martin, Jr.

James "Jim" I. Martin, Jr., 56, of Dawson, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Jim was born February 2, 1955 in Springfield, the son of James and Joann (Brennan) Martin, Sr. He married Cindy Estes on April 13, 1982 in Oklahoma City. Jim graduated from Tri-City High School in Buffalo and worked as a farmhand in the Dawson area for many years. He was also a union carpenter. Jim loved being outdoors, hunting and mudding on the Sangamon River. He also enjoyed helping out with his wife's cleaning business, "Cleaning with Pizzazz." He was preceded in death by his father, James I. Martin, Sr. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy Martin of Dawson; three sons, Noah (wife, Nichole) Martin of Dawson, Jonah (wife, Brittany) Martin of Springfield and James I. Martin III of Dawson; two grandchildren, Aryonah Martin of Dawson and Chyanne Martin of Springfield; mother, Joann Martin of Dawson; four brothers, Michael (wife, Mary-Ellen) Martin of Mattoon, John (wife, Deb) Martin of MS, Mark (wife, Jody) Martin of Dawson, and Joseph Martin of Springfield; his two beloved dogs, Lilly and Soter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 S.
