

James Glen Morrow, 78, passed away on September 19, 2025, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. A man of deep conviction and remarkable intellect, he leaves behind a legacy of service, scholarship, and storytelling that touched the lives of many.
Born on August 16, 1947, in Red Bay, Alabama, Glen was the son of Gertrude and Murphy Morrow. In December of that same year the family moved to Bertrand, MO to farm better lands.
In 1969 he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication were recognized with several distinguished honors: the Bronze Star with a V Device for valor in combat, the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in action, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He returned from Vietnam in 1971 with an unshakable commitment to integrity and perseverance.
Following his military service, Glen pursued higher education with unwavering determination. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University and went on to complete a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Sangamon State University. His academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Research Methodologies—a testament to his lifelong pursuit of knowledge. In addition to his academic degrees, Glen also achieved professional excellence by earning the Associate in Research (ARP) and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Glen was known as a lifelong Christian gentleman whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He had a gift for storytelling—his words could captivate his audience or bring comfort to those around him. Writing was one of his great joys; through it, he shared wisdom, humor, and heartfelt reflections that will be cherished by those who knew him.
Glen was fortunate enough to spend many of his retired years traveling with his beloved wife, Marlene. They visited many different US states as well as traveled and toured other countries experiencing different cultures and ways of living.
Glen is survived by his dearest wife Marlene; his daughter Tiffany; stepdaughter Heather; stepson Nick; grandchildren Abby and Austin; sister Kay; and extended family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and Murphy Morrow and his brother Robert.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 10:00am on Monday October 6, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
