James B. Stapleton, 94, of New Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at St. John's Hospital. Jim was born September 10, 1917, to Mary (Shanle) and Timothy J. Stapleton. They and his two brothers, Francis and Tim, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn (Frey); daughter, Maureen (William) Waters; son, Jim (Franci); two grandsons; and sister, Katy Stapleton. Jim loved the land as a lifelong farmer and his passion for horses led him to serve as superintendant of the IL State Fair Horse Show for many years. He was active in his community, serving in township government and on various civic boards. Visitation: Family will receive visitors from 9:00 10:15 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 E. Birch St., New Berlin. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Berlin.
