
Jim was born in Quincy, IL October 9, 1953 the son of Norman James and Helen Bernice (Williams) Voots. They preceded him in death.
Jim was an automobile transmission specialist at Precision Transmission in St. Louis, MO for many years. He shared this expertise, teaching others how to repair, rebuild and service transmissions. He had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, boating and working on old cars. Jim was a member of several bowling leagues and traveled to tournaments held in Cincinnati. Jim earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He was of the Methodist faith.
Jim is survived by his four sisters: Linda (Kevin) McGee of Chatham, IL, Pam (Ray) Voots-Edwards of Springfield, IL, Kathy (Shane) Highberger of Ft. Morgan, CO, and Lisa (Raul) Villarreal of Surprise, AZ, several nieces and nephews: Shayna, Jayme, Heather, Justin, Abby, Nic, and Melina, his step nieces and nephews, and his longtime caregiver, Krista Boeker.
Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch and Son Crematory. A graveside service with inurnment will be at a later date in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, IL.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the ALS Association, St. Louis Regional Chapter, 1950 Craig Road, Suite 200, St. Louis, MO 63146.
