

James Lester Wilson, 75, of Springfield, formerly of Petersburg, died at 4:21 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Springfield. James was born February 19, 1938 in Petersburg, the son of Arthur and Beulah Dunham Wilson. He married Nyla Marie Kennedy and she preceded him in death. He then married Patricia Scharfenberg Edwards on August 15, 1992 in Springfield. James proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1960. He worked as a truck driver for Snyder Lumber, Co., RPM Freightways, Garland-Gehrke, Horn Farms, and Foodliner. James also owned and operated Auburn Shell during the 1980s and was also a supervisor for the Petersburg Water Department. Most recently he worked for Prime Panels / Tom Nudo in Springfield. James had great faith in Christ and believed in the power of praying. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather and rejoiced in the accomplishments of his family. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Wilson; and two brothers, William and Roy Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wilson of Springfield; two daughters, Brenda (husband, Mike) Lowman of Orlando, FL and Lorraine (husband, Ted) Duggins of Riverton; three step-sons, Doug (wife, Kelly) Edwards of Waverly, Jason (wife, Marcy) Edwards of Auburn, and Corey Edwards of Kincaid; seven grandchildren, Charissa Swiech, Colleen Jorn, Derek Plozizka, Will Schneider, Anna Duggins, Annette Lowman, and Lori Argillander; several great-grandchildren; five siblings, Velma Ladage of Calhoun, GA, Grace Caygill, Kathy Liesman, both of Springfield, Perry (wife, Jean) Wilson of Petersburg, and David Atwood of Rushville; two beloved dogs, Parker and Penny; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony & Additional Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. John Keyes officiating.
