

Jane Elizabeth Chirrick, 94, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2025, at 8:26 a.m. She was born on October 14, 1930, in Orange, California, the daughter of John Clifford and Maria Florinda (Quintana) Clark. In 1947, she married Charles Murray Blevins and had two children, Robert Charles and Nancy Lynn. Charles preceded her in death. In 1972, Jane married Theodore “Ted” Chirrick. Ted passed in 1999.
Jane was also preceded in death by her brothers, George, Donald, and John Jr.; and sister, Eleanor Ramona “Mona” Bills.
She is survived by her son, Robert Blevins of Corona, CA; daughter, Nancy (Lawren) Tucker of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren; Jennifer (Chris) Bailey, of TN, Charles (Elizabeth) Blevins of MI; Olga Helmy (Jedediah) Brodie, of MT; Barnabas (Heather) Helmy of IL; Edmund (Sarah) Tucker, and Tristian (Jenna) Tucker, of NM; twelve great-grandchildren, Nicolas (Mark) Bailey-Simon, Samantha (Chris) Cunningham, Zoe, Anna, Danika, and Charley Blevins, Joaquin and Niko Brodie, Bijoux Helmy, Eva, Sophia, and Marcus Tucker; one great-great grandson, Hayden Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond.
Jane attended Garden Grove High School and earned her GED later in life. She worked in the aerospace industry assembling electronics and as parts supervisor for most of her adult life. In the 1990s, Jane and Ted moved from California to Mohave Valley, AZ. She came to Illinois to be with her daughter in 2013.
Jane was a life-long member of the Baptist Church and sang in the choir for years. She joined the Episcopal Church in 2013. Church and Bible study were very important to Jane. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship in Springfield, IL, for several years.
Graveside service and burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens in Mohave Valley, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 611 E. Jackson St., Springfield, IL 62701.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield, IL.
