

Janet Enlow, 95, of Springfield, died at 9:18 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. Janet was born November 22, 1917 in Springfield, the daughter of William Newton and Linnie Ferreira Guymon. She married John F. Enlow on April 7, 1935 in Springfield and they celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary before his death on October 20, 2005. Janet was a graduate of Springfield High School and was co-founder of Springfield-Decatur Transfer. She was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church for over seventy years and the Springfield Homemaker's Club, as well as the homemaker's clubs while living in AR and TN. She also volunteered as a Cub Scout Den mother. Janet had many accomplishments; including being a medal winner for shuffleboard and bowling in the Senior Olympics, but her proudest accomplishment was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Robert Enlow in 2009; infant son, Roy; four brothers, Dale, Roy, Russell, and Robert; and one sister, Ruth Giddish. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carole Enlow of Springfield; six grandchildren, John (wife, Connie) Enlow of Riverton, Jeanne (husband, David) Urbanek, Jackie (husband, Jim) Peters, Jim Enlow, Jeff (wife, Nancy) Enlow, and Julie (husband, Randy) Ressler all of Springfield; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim (wife, Nora) Enlow of Springfield as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
