Janet Kay Hoffman, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Janet was born May 12, 1937 in Springfield, the daughter of Bendix and Martha Schmidt Hoffman. Janet was a 1955 graduate of Feitshans High School in Springfield and retired in 1999 from the Department of Rehabilitation after 27 years of service. She loved to play the piano, crochet, dine out and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Lippa of Springfield and June (Ronald) Rose of Petersburg; and several nieces, a nephew and cousins. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington, Springfield, with Pastor Paul Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's Lutheran Church, 2477 W.
