

Janice Beverly Woodard, 85, of Springfield, passed away on March 7, 2024 at her residence. She was born on September 26, 1938 in Pence, Wisconsin to John Brackett and Alice Kamppi Brackett. Janice married Kenneth F. Woodard on May 12, 1960 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2014.
Mrs. Woodard is survived by one son Adam Woodard of Bloomington, Illinois, two daughters: Eve (Jeffry) Healy of Plainfield, Indiana, and Kahla (Andy) Zander of Springfield, four grandchildren: Aaron (Shannelle) Healy, Joshua (Angela) Healy, Laura (Jonathon) Stanfield and James Zander, ten great-grandchildren, Four sisters: Bonnie White, Judy Brackett, Kay Cavin, Denise (Jack) Findlay and one brother Dennis (Joyce) Brackett. Janice has many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Billy Brackett, Gene Brackett and Brian Brackett.
Janice grew up on the farm in Minnesota as one of nine children. She worked hard milking cows and doing chores in her younger days. She met Kenneth and moved to Springfield as an adult. Janice worked at Everett McKinley Dirksen Nursing Home as a nurses aid, Memorial Hospital as EKG technician, and NCCI as an insurance rater. Janice loved Jesus with all of her heart. She loved her family and was always there for them. She had a servant's heart. She loved caring for people and was a giver. It has been said of her that she lived a beautiful life testimony of God's love and faithfulness. She was a member of Calvary Church in Springfield for over 30 years where she had many friends and loved to serve her church family. She also enjoyed taking trips with the Young at Heart group.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Calvary Church, 1730 West Jefferson Street, Springfield, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday March 15, 2024 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street.
