Janine Oxencis

Janine was born on July 2, 1967 in Springfield, the daughter of George and Ardith Millburg Murphy. She married Jeff Oxencis on February 20, 1993 in Springfield.

Janine was a 1985 graduate of Glenwood High School. She was a long-time employee of the State of IL as an Executive Assistant and Personnel Assistant. Janine was later employed at the Rochester School District and the IL State Dental Society. She had a passion for her children, friends, family, and was a loving mother, wife, and sister. Janine was creative and enjoyed arts, crafts, and painting, but above all else, she loved spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Jim Blalock.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Oxencis of Rochester; her children, Justin and Jaylen Oxencis of Rochester; six siblings, Cherie (husband, Les) Young of Springfield, Vickie (husband, Mike) Armstrong of Springfield, Connie Blalock of Powell, TN, Patti (husband, Bill) Moehring of Mahomet, IL, Linda (companion, Joe Mackay) Murphy of Springfield, and Margie (husband, Bob) Caldwell of Alpharetta, GA; and multiple loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Butler Funeral Home—Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 10 people at a time will be allowed into the building.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
