Jason was born November 1, 1976, in Springfield, IL, the son of Jay M. and Patricia L. Dodge Dodd. He married Melanie N. Gard in August of 2008 and they later divorced.
Jason was a member of Laborer’s Local #477, Springfield for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and the love of his life, his daughter, Lucy, the bright spot of his world. Jason enjoyed all things outdoors: camping, fishing, boating, hunting, anywhere, any season. He also enjoyed all types of music, dancing, was an avid fixer of cars, repairing almost anything. Jason was truly a fix-it guy, who came by it rightfully from his father.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick “Casey” Dodd; paternal grandparents, Charles Walter and Vivian V. Dodd; and maternal grandparents, Charles E. and Alice J. (Creviston) Dodge.
Jason is survived by his daughter, Lucy; her mother, Melanie; parents, Jay M. and Patricia L. (Dodge) Dodd of Loami; many aunts, uncles, and extensive family and friends who knew him well and were always there for him, as he was for them; and his forever faithful furry companion, “Gunner Buddy”.
