Jay D. Kittell, Sr.

Jay D. Kittell, Sr., 78, of Springfield, died at 6:07 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Jay was born October 3, 1936 in Springfield, the son of Clifford and Helen Fowkes Kittell. He married Beverly Frantz on August 31, 1954 in Gainesville, TX; she preceded him in death on December 17, 2013. Jay graduated from Feitshans High School in 1954 and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for 8 years. He was employed with Goodman Fence Company, Inc. for 28 years. He previously owned and operated AMCO Fence Company for 12 years and was employed with Levis Funeral Supply for 4 years. He was a past President of Springfield Rod and Reel, past President of Springfield Postal Club, and a member of the Eagles and Elks. Jay enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Ann Kittell. He is survived by his four children, Jay (wife, Mary) Kittell, Jr. of Tamarac, FL, Danny (wife, Wanda) Kittell of Palm Harbor, FL, Jeff Kittell of Springfield, and Tami (husband, Jerry) Pascoe of Pawnee; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Roselawn Memorial Park Virtues of Life Columbarium, 1735 S. Camp Butler Rd., Springfield.
