Jean Marie McEvoy

Jean "Jeany" Marie McEvoy, 45, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at 10:20 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Jeany was born July 10, 1964 in Springfield, the daughter of John (Jack) F. and Shirley A. Heimlich McEvoy. Jeany attended St. Joseph School, Ursuline Academy and Lincoln Land Community College's School of Nursing. She was an oncology certified RN who worked on 2E Oncology at Memorial Medical Center for 18 years. Jeany will be remembered for her devotion to the nursing profession and to her patients. She will also be remembered for her love of her family, her family of pets and her absolute love of gardening. Jeany treasured most of all her time spent with her family, her trips with her two nieces and taking her nephew to Australia. She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Ann McEvoy. She is survived by her father Jack McEvoy of Springfield; siblings; JoEllen (husband, Gene) Jackson of Melbourne, Australia, Judy (husband, Mike) Hessler and Chris (companion, Bonnie Dietz) McEvoy, both of Springfield, and John William (wife, Debbie) McEvoy of Sherman; two nieces, Kayla and Jessie McEvoy; and two nephews, Chad Carter and Jacob McEvoy. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Pilli officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
