Jeannette E. Stratton

Jeannette E. Stratton, 89, of Springfield, died at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Jeannette was born on October 5, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of William F. and Nellie Wattling Duda. She married Dr. Richard L. Stratton on August 9, 1945 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2013. Jeannette graduated from Springfield High School in 1944 and then attended the Cadet Nursing School at Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of the former Woodside United Methodist Church in Springfield and First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, FL. Jeannette enjoyed spending her free time volunteering, doing arts and crafts, traveling, and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William E. Duda. Jeannette is survived by her children, Pamela Muir of Springfield, Richard L. (wife, Carol) Stratton II of Placida, FL, Janna (husband, Warren) Atherton of Springfield, Kenneth W. Stratton of Houston, TX, and Jim (wife, Jill) Stratton of Jefferson City, MO; eight grandchildren, Steven (wife, Miranda) Muir, Amy (husband, Stephen) Minch, Natalie (husband, Nicholas) Kucan, Kacie (husband, Jeremy) Shields, Rick Stratton, Cam (husband, Austin) Berlin and Chris Stratton (and their mother, Debby Stratton), and Carly Stratton; four great-grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Minch, Wrisley Muir, Ryker Kucan; and one brother, James A. Duda of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Nicole Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
