Jeffrey F. Chastain

Jeffrey F. Chastain, 49, of Springfield, died at 7:01 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. Jeffrey was born on January 16, 1958 in Springfield, the son of Joseph W. and Bernadine M. Antey Chastain. He was employed as a custodian at St. John’s Hospital for eighteen years and then as a custodian for Springfield School District 186. He was a gentle, quiet, hard working man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed building model cars and planes. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Chastain. He is survived by three sons: Alexander R. (wife, Christi) Chastain of Springfield, Brian C. (wife, Stacy) Chastain of Bloomington and Christopher L. (wife, Jessica) Chastain of Springfield; three grandchildren: Alexander Robert Chastain II, Zarrik K. Chastain and Zachary J. Chastain; two sisters: Judith Veith of Springfield; Sandra (husband, Thomas) Clarke of Frisco, TX and one brother: Albert Stanley (wife, Joyce) Chastain of Portland, OR; four aunts, one uncle, eight nieces, four nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several cousins. The family welcomes friends to visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Ceremonies at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with Rev. Paul J. Olson and Rev. Michael Haag officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family of Jeffrey F.
